MARQUETTE, Mich. – All of the Northern Michigan University winter sports teams are on the road this week.
The NMU women’s swimming and diving team travels to the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Swimming and Diving Championships. Action gets underway on Wednesday (Feb. 11) and runs through Saturday (Feb. 14) at Jenison High School. Grand Valley State is hosting the event.
Men’s (11-10, 6-10 GLIAC) and women’s (12-9, 7-9 GLIAC) basketball takes to the road for the second consecutive week. The men’s team will be looking to extend its two-game winning streak while the women’s team is still in the hunt for a GLIAC Tournament spot. Thursday (Feb. 12) the teams are at Grand Valley State. The women’s team will play first at 6 p.m. as the men will follow at approximately 8 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 14) the teams are at Ferris State with the women tipping off at 1 p.m. and the men at approximately 3 p.m.
Hockey (11-13-4, 8-10-4-3 CCHA) takes it 8-1-1 record since the beginning of January to Notre Dame for two games against the Fighting Irish. Friday’s game (Feb. 13) is on CBS College Sports as the puck will drop at 8:05 p.m. Saturday’s game (Feb. 14) is set for 7:05 p.m.
Women’s indoor track and field will compete at the St. Scholastica Invitational Saturday (Feb. 14) in Duluth, Minn. Also competing in Minnesota will be the NNM men’s and women’s Nordic ski teams. They will be skiing at the St. Cloud Invitational Saturday and Sunday (Feb. 14-15) in Brainerd, Minn.
