Aqua-'Cats Training Trip To Cocoa Beach, Fla.

 

COCOA BEACH, Fla. – The Northern Michigan University women’s swimming team spent part of its break in Cocoa Beach, Fla. on a training trip. NMU swam against Lock Haven in a sprint meet as part of its training.
Catherine Sromek took the 100-yard I.M. while teammate Lindsay VandenBroeck was second. Ashley Oliver won the 50 backstroke with Sromek second. Emily Olson captured the 50 butterfly with fellow Wildcat Elyse Sawka second. 
The ‘Cats went one-two in the 50 breaststroke as Hannah Bolger touched the wall first and was followed by Stephanie Rogaczewski. Nicole Kaszuba placed second in the 50 freestyle.
The team then swam a monster relay in which each swimmer swam 50 freestyle.
The ‘Cats wrap up its training trip and head back to Marquette for the second half of the season. The ‘Cats have one more dual meet against Grand Valley State on Jan. 31 at home before the GLIAC Championships which will be held at GVSU Feb. 11-14.
