Basketball To Face Tiffin And Ashland At Home This Week

 

MARQUETTE, Mich. – The Northern Michigan University men’s and women’s basketball teams are home this week at the Berry Events Center for a total of four games. Hockey will play its second series in a row on the road. Nordic skiing is still in Anchorage, Alaska.
Thursday (Jan. 8) the women’s basketball team (6-5, 1-5 GLIAC) gets things rolling with a 5:30 p.m. contest against the Dragons of Tiffin University. The men’s team (8-3, 3-3 GLIAC) will hit the floor at approximately 7:30 p.m.   Tiffin is making its first visit to the Berry Events Center.
The men’s and women’s teams will close out the home stand with games against Ashland University on Saturday (Jan. 10). Action gets underway at 1 p.m. with the women’s game the men’s contest will follow at approximately 3 p.m.
Hockey (5-12-3, 2-9-3-2 CCHA) is on the road for the second week in a row with games in the Central Time Zone. This week the ‘Cats are back in conference play with two games at the University of Nebraska-Omaha.     The puck will drop both nights (Jan. 9-10) at 8:05 p.m. (Eastern).
Both Nordic ski teams are in Anchorage, Alaska this week competing at the U.S. Cross Country Championships. The ‘Cats will skate in the Collegiate Open Saturday and Sunday (Jan. 10-11).
