BAY CITY, Mich. – The 2008 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) All-Conference Football Teams have been announced. Northern Michigan did not place a player on the first team, but did have a player on the second team on both sides of the ball.
Senior Kris Krempien from Mukwonago, Wis., was selected as an offensive lineman. Nathan Yelk, a junior from Arlington, Wis., was selected as a linebacker. He led the 2008 Wildcats with 98 total tackles (61 solo and 37 assisted). Yelk also collected six tackles-for-loss (-29 yards), two sacks (-14 yards) and an interception on the season.
Six ‘Cats were named to the All-GLIAC honorable mention team. Mark Bossuah was named as a running back. He led the ‘Cats this past season with 660 yards on the ground with a team-high five rushing touchdowns. Dan Elmore was named as a wide receiver, he had 34 receptions for a team-leading 492 yards and six receiving touchdowns (team high). Alex Grignon a defensive back had 60 total tackles in 2008 (41 solo and 19 assisted). Named as an offensive lineman was Jack Rustman. Another wide receiver, Zach Nichols, was named to the squad. He led the team with 45 receptions for 438 yards with four scores. Jacob Reimer along the defensive line was selected to the honorable mention team. He had 32 total tackles (15 solo and 17 assisted) to go along with his three-and-a-half tackles-for-loss (-24 yards) and two sacks (-21 yards).
