BAY CITY, Mich. – Three members of the Northern Michigan University women’s soccer team were recently named to the 2008 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) women’s soccer teams.
Meghan Sarna was named to the first team while teammates Kari Buckel and Brittney Buchanan were selected to the second team. NMU ended the season with an overall record of 11-9-1 and a conference mark of 7-6-1. The Wildcats finished in fifth place in the GLIAC standings and lost to Ferris State last week in the GLIAC Tournament (2-0).
Sarna was selected as a defender. She ended the 2008 season with two goals and six assists. Buckel, led the ‘Cats with 11 goals on the season, was selected as a forward. Teammate Buchanan was chosen as a midfielder. She ended the 2008 campaign with three goals and an assist.
