TIFFIN, Ohio – A couple of weeks ago in Marquette the Northern Michigan University women’s soccer team and the Tiffin University Dragons played a soccer game. The Dragons took the game 1-0 in overtime. Move forward and today’s re-matched in Tiffin. Both teams tallied a goal in the second half which stood up for two overtimes as the game was a draw at 1-1. With the tie the Wildcats are now 10-8-1 overall on the season and 6-6-1 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC). Tiffin is now 12-4-1 and 8-4-1 respectively.
NMU scored first on an unassisted goal by Meghan Sarna, for her second of the season, at 49:00. Tiffin tied the game at the 81 minute mark on a goal by Kristen White. Kara Music had four saves on the day for the ‘Cats in front of the net.
NMU had nine shots for the game. The ‘Cats had two shots in the first overtime period and none in the second. Tiffin had 12 shots for the game with 11 coming in regulation and one in the first overtime period. The Dragons had six corner kicks to one for the ‘Cats.
NMU will play its regular season finals a week from today (Nov. 2) at Ashland University.
