MARQUETTE, MIch. – Five seniors on the Northern Michigan University women’s soccer team will step foot onto the pitch Sunday (Oct. 19) at noon for the final time. The Wildcats face the Northwood University Timberwolves in its regular-season home finale. Brittney Buchanan, Abigail Debiak, Michaela Harris, Meghan Sarna and Casey Wilcox are the seniors putting on the jersey for the final time at home on Sunday.
Buchanan has appeared in 67 career games with 16 goals and six assists. This year she currently has two goals in 15 games. She had a career-high seven goals during her freshman campaign in 2005.
Debiak had six assists during the 2005 season, which was her freshman season. She has appeared in 66 games with three goals and eight assists. She has appeared in 14 games this year.
Harris has four career goals in 58 games. She scored two goals each in 2006 and in 2007. This year she has appeared in 14 games.
Sarna scored her lone career goal this year. In 61 career games she also has six assists. This year she has four assists which leads the team, in 15 games.
The final senior is Wilcox. She has seven goals and eight assists in 68 games. Six of her goals have been scored over the past three seasons. In 15 games this year she is second on the team with two assists and also has two goals.
Before the game on Sunday the ‘Cats face Saginaw Valley on Friday (Oct. 17) at 4 p.m.
