ISHPEMING, Mich. – Friday afternoon the Northern Michigan University women’s cross country team hosted its lone home meet of the season. After all the runners had crossed the finish line the Wildcats had won the U.P. Championships with 31 points. Michigan Tech was second (38) and Lake Superior State third (70).
Scoring points for the ‘Cats were freshmen Nora Killeen in fourth (20:32.6) and teammate Rebecca Holmquist in fifth (20:33.8). Two more freshmen were the next NMU runners to cross the finish line. Stephanie Enderby was eighth (20:46.3) as she was followed by Erin McCulloch in ninth (20:46.6). The final NMU runner to score team points was Christina Gills in 12th (20:57.6).
NMU will run again in two weeks (Oct. 25) at the GLIAC Championships which are being held at Lake Superior State.
