ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Northern Michigan University women’s soccer team took on the top team in NCAA II Friday afternoon. Grand Valley State scored two goals in the first half which held up for the 2-0 win. NMU falls to 7-7 overall and 3-5 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC). The Lakers stay perfect at 13-0 and 8-0 respectively.
Grand Valley scored its goals at 1;20 by Katy Tafler and at 30:27 by Ashley Elsass. Kara Music in goal for the ‘Cats had five saves. The Lakers had 13 shots to four for the ‘Cats. Corner kicks were also in favor of the home team with seven to three for NMU.
The ‘Cats are at Ferris State on Sunday (Oct. 12) at noon for its next action.
