MARQUETTE, Mich. – The Northern Michigan University women’s soccer team played against a very physical Tiffin University team Sunday on the NMU pitch. After 90 minutes of play the score was event at zero. The Dragons scored 1:47 in the extra session for the 1-0 win on a goal by Laura Wilhelm.. NMU falls to 7-6 overall on the season and 3-4 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC). Tiffin improves to 9-2 and 5-2 respectively.
The Dragons ended the match with 11 shots to three for the Wildcats. Corner kicks were in favor of the home team at 3-1. Tiffin had 10 more fouls than NMU for the game (19-9). Kara Music ended the day with six saves.
NMU hits the road for its next two encounters. Friday (Oct. 10) the ‘Cats are at Grand Valley State and move up the road to face Ferris State on Sunday (Oct. 12).
