Happenings At CCHA Media Day

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The annual Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) Media Day was held Tuesday in Grand Rapids, Mich. The preseason polls and preseason all-conference team were announced.
Northern Michigan University was selected fourth in the coaches and fifth in the media poll. The Wildcats received 102 points in the coaches poll. In the media poll the ‘Cats picked up 700 points and a first-place selection on a ballot.
Mark Olver was selected to the 2008-09 CCHA Preseason All-Conference Team as a second team. Olver is the ‘Cats leading returning scorer with 38 points (21-17). Olver tallied 25 points and two first-team nods.
Two ‘Cats were honorable mention selections to the team. Erik Gustafsson and Nick Sirota were named as honorable mention selections.
