KENOSHA, Wis. – The Northern Michigan University women’s cross country team competed at the UW-Parkside Midwest Collegiate Open on Saturday. The Wildcats finished in seventh place in the team competition with 194 points. Cedarville College from Ohio won the events with 24 points. Two freshmen led the Wildcats in today’s race.
Rebecca Holmquist led the Wildcats with a time of 20:05 which was good for 28th in the team scoring. Right behind her was teammate Nora Kiilunen as she crossed the finish line with a time of 20:06.
Maegan Hendershot was the next ‘Cat to run across the finish line with a time of 20:27 for 41st. Freshman Erin McCulloch had the same time as Hendershot, but was 42nd. The final NMU runner to score team points was another freshman Stephanie Enderby in 54th (20:42).
NMU had two others runners in the race, but they did not score any team points. Anna Berglund ran the course in a time of 20:44 which placed her 56th. The final ‘Cat to run across the finish line was Kyle Richards in 73rd (21:10).
NMU will compete next at the Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn. next Saturday (Sept. 27).
