Kara Music Adds To Her Career Shutouts

MARQUETTE, Mich. – Kara Music recorded her Northern Michigan University career-leading 15th shutout on Friday with a 1-0 win over the University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs. The junior from Whitehouse, Ohio picked up seven saves in the win. The Wildcats are now 4-2 on the season while UMD falls to 0-6.
NMU’s only goal of the game came at 3:36 from the foot of Dana Stephens with an assist from Meghan Sarna. The goal held up for a little over 86 minutes. 
The Bulldogs out-shot the ‘Cats 11-8. Corner kicks were also in favor of UMD at 7-2. Kayla Haldeman for UMD picked up four saves in the loss.
NMU will be back in action on Sunday (Sept. 14) at noon against Ashland at the NMU Soccer Field for its first conference game of the season.
