MARQUETTE, Mich. – The Northern Michigan University women’s soccer team wasted little time in scoring a goal against Concordia University-St. Paul Friday. Kari Buckel scored the first of her two goals just 1:23 into the game. NMU added two more goals for a final score of 3-0. The Wildcats (3-1) after dropping its first game of the season have now rattled off three wins in a row. Concordia falls to 2-2 on the season.
Buckel’s first goal came off the opening kickoff of the game. A little less than 15 minutes later (16:19) Casey Wilcox added a goal for a 2-0 score. The ‘Cats final goal of the game came from Buckel at 62:42. Kara Music and Dana Bush combined for the shutout. Music had a save while Bush had two.
NMU add an advantage on shots at 28-3. Corner kicks were also in favor of the ‘Cats at 6-1.
NMU will face Winona State on Sunday afternoon (Sept. 7) at noon on the NMU soccer pitch behind the Superior Dome.
