MARQUETTE, Mich. – The Northern Michigan University Athletic Department is offering membership in the Young Wildcat Club to children in eighth grade and below. The cost is $10 for the year and offers members free admission to all NMU basketball, football, volleyball and eight selected hockey games for the 2008-09 year. Members will also receive an official club t-shirt and a membership card with a lanyard.
Other events planned for the year include: forming the tunnel at selected football games, participating in the NMU Homecoming parade, an ice cream tailgating party during the Homecoming game, sign decorating for the television game against Michigan Tech, participating at selected hockey games to pick up chuck-a-pucks on the ice, Dome Day with the student-athletes on Jan. 25 and a kid coach day where one kid will be preselected to be a kid coach for a specific sporting event.
The club t-shirt has been redesigned with a new look for this year. The club is doing many different events for the coming season. Adults may want to join to be a kid again, but it is only for kids in eighth grade and below. Club members are invited to exclusive events.
