Meghan Sarna's Goal Stands Up

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Northern Michigan University women’s soccer team went out on the road for the first time this season. After winning Sunday’s game in overtime, the Wildcats defeated Lewis on Tuesday afternoon by a 1-0 score. NMU improves to 2-1 on the season while Lewis falls to 1-1.
Meghan Sarna scored the only goal of the game at 75:51. The unassisted goal was from a free kick about 20 yards out. Kara Music recorded her 14th career shutout with no saves. NMU had nine shots to two for the Flyers. Lewis had six corner kicks to three for the ‘Cats.
NMU will be home for two games this weekend. First up is a tilt against Concordia-St. Paul on Friday (Sept. 5) and a Sunday (Sept. 7) clash with Winona State.
