WALNUT, Calif. – After the first day of the heptathlon at the 2008 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships, Leslie Luehmann is currently in eighth place with 2,751 points. Jessica Withrow from Abilene Christian leads the competition after four events with 3,059 points.
Luehmann ran a 15.61 in the 100-meter hurdles which was good for 763 points. In the high jump she cleared 5-00.25 which put 655 points in her column. The third event of the first day was the shot put as Luehmann had a throw of 33-06.50 which was good for 544 points. Luehmann ran the third fastest time in the 200 with a 26.09 for 789 points.
Today, Luehmann will finish off the heptathlon with the long jump, javelin and 800 run.
