Tyler Kazmierkoski Receives Commissioner's Award

BAY CITY, Mich. – The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announces the recipients of the Winter 2008 GLIAC  Commissioner’s Awards. The awards, sponsored by Meijer Incorporated, will be presented after the Fall, Winter and Spring athletic seasons to six male and six female student-athletes who excel both in the classroom and on the fields of play.  
 
 Northern Michigan University’s Tyler Kazmierkoski was one of the six male student-athletes selected for the Winter 2008 Commissioner’s Award. He joins Brett Bartlett of Ashland University; Tyler Evans of Findlay; Kevin Maloney of Michigan Tech; Paul Musille of Gannon University; and Phil Watkins of Grand Valley State University in receiving the award.
 
Kazmierkoski, a starting guard on the NMU basketball team, is a social studies and secondary education major who has maintained a 3.85 GPA (4.0 scale) during his career.    For the 2007-08 season, Kazmierkoski averaged 13.0 points per game, grabbed 124 rebounds (4.6 rpg) and led the team with 69 three-pointers made. He was seventh in the GLIAC last season with three-point field goals made average of 2.56 per game.
