Student-Athletes To Attend Conference
MARQUETTE, Mich. – Two Northern Michigan University student-athletes have been selected to attend the NCAA National Student-Athlete Development Conference in Orlando, Fla. at the Walt Disney World Resort. The event will be conducted in two sessions, May 25-27 and May 27-29. Selected from NMU to attend are Derek May from the hockey and Brittney Buchanan from the soccer squads.
The NCAA National Student-Athlete Development Conference provides NCAA student-athletes with a forum to openly discuss issues that affect them on their campuses and in their communities, while also providing them with the opportunity to enhance their leadership, communication, decision-making and problem-solving skills. The conference will provide ideas and skills to promote better communication among student-athletes, coaches, administrators, faculty and communities.
