FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – The Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) announces that Mark Olver has been named the CCHA Rookie of the Month for February.
Olver had seven goals and 11 points in nine games for the Wildcats, helping NMU to a 5-2-2 record for the month. Three of his goals were on the power play and he also assisted on a game-winning goal. Olver ended the month with a +3 rating.
Olver, a native of Burnaby, B.C. and a product of Omaha in the USHL, ended February with a seven-game point streak (6-4-10). The forward recorded a goal in a 3-3 draw with Michigan and registered three points (1-2-3) in a sweep of Michigan State. Against Ohio State he picked up a goal and an assist the first night in the 2-0 win and added another goal the following night. Olver had two goals and an assist against Nebraska-Omaha for the weekend. He scored two goals in the 6-4 win on Feb. 22 and then added an assist in the 4-3 win the next night. The final game of the month against Lake Superior he had a goal.
