MARQUETTE, Mich. – It will be a quiet couple of days around the Northern Michigan University campus as one team will be off while the others are on the road. One of the team’s will be at home early next week.
Both basketballs will be at Lake Superior State University on Wednesday (Jan. 30) for its only action of the week. The women’s team (8-11, 3-8 GLIAC) will take the court at 5:30 p.m. At approximately 7:30 p.m. the men’s team (5-14, 5-6 GLIAC) will tip-off. The men’s cagers will be back in action at home on Monday (Feb. 4) against Northland Baptist in a non-conference game.
Hockey (10-16-1, 7-11-0 CCHA) will travel to Ann Arbor, Mich., to take on cluster-mater the University of Michigan in a weekend series (Feb. 1-2). The puck will drop both nights at Yost Ice Arena at 7:35 p.m.
The NMU women’s indoor track and field team will be competing at the NCAA II Challenge at Saginaw Valley State University on Friday and Saturday (Feb. 1-2).
On Saturday (Feb. 2) the NMU women’s swimming and diving team will be at Grand Valley State University for its final dual meet of the season.
The NMU Nordic ski teams are off this weekend.
Basketball (men’s and women’s) and hockey games can be heard on The Bear (94.1 FM). The games are also streamed on the internet (http://webb.nmu.edu/SportsAthletics/).
