After the basketball games on Thursday there will be a Volunteer Auction in the Wildcat Room beginning at 9 p.m. Selected NMU coaches will be auctioned off to perform chores for the winning bidders. The event is sponsored by ASNMU/SAAC.
Saturday (Jan. 26) will be a marathon of activities at the Berry Events Center. At 11 a.m. the women’s basketball team will face The University of Findlay. That will be followed by the men’s basketball game against the Oilers at 1 p.m. Before each game basketball trading cards will be given out. There will be a strawberry eating contest at halftime of both games.
It will also be Family Day for the basketball games. Children in eighth grade and lower will be admitted to either game for free when attending with an adult.
That night the NMU hockey team (10-15-1, 7-11-0 CCHA) will face the USNTDP in an exhibition game at 7:35 p.m. Big Boy is the sponsor for all three games on Saturday.  During the hockey game there will be a mascot duel between Wildcat Willy and Big Boy.
Four other NMU teams are on the road this week. The women’s indoor track and field team will be at the Lake Superior State University Invitational on Saturday (Jan. 26). Saturday will also find the NMU women’s swimming and diving team at UW-Oshkosh for a dual meet. The NMU men’s and women’s Nordic ski teams will compete on Saturday and Sunday (Jan. 26-27) at the CCSA Conference Championships in Hayward, Wis.
