MARQUETTE, Mich. – Hosting its only meet of the season, the Northern Michigan University women’s cross country team took six of the top 10 spots at the Wildcat Open on Friday. Only five runners are allowed to score. NMU scored 24 team points to 35 for Lake Superior State University.
Katie Scott of LSSU won the race with a time of 11:18.4. Bibiane Mahy was the top placing ‘Cat as she finished in second place (11:28.4). Michele Bisig was third (11:28.8) as she was followed by teammates Jenny Wiedmeyer fifth (11:38.0), Danielle Stein eighth (11:48.0) and Maria Grossi ninth (11:48.6).
NMU will run next at the GLIAC Cross Country Championships on Oct. 20. The meet will be held in Erie, Pa.
