Wildcats Split In Erie

ERIE, Pa. – The Northern Michigan women’s soccer team split on its Erie swing this weekend. Friday the Wildcats defeated Gannon (1-0) and today it was the Mercyhurst Lakers to turn the tables and take the game 1-0. NMU is now 6-3-2 overall on the season and 2-2-2 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) while the Lakers improve to 9-1-1 and 3-0-0 respectively.
 
The lone goal of the game was scored by the Lakers Adrienne Sluga from Jacque Sluga at 30:17. Mercyhurst had 13 shots for the game as three were on-goal. NMU only had three shots for the game and one was one target.
 
Kara Music had two saves for the game. The home team had the edge on corner kicks at 7-4.
 
The ‘Cats will go out of conference for its next game as the team will host Cardinal Stritch on Sunday, Oct. 7.
