FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – The annual Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) Media Day was held at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Mich. on Tuesday, Sept. 25. At the event the CCHA preseason polls were released as well as the CCHA Preseason All-Conference Teams and the 2007-08 CCHA Television Schedule.
 
NMU was picked eighth in the coaches poll and 10th in the media poll. A total of 63 members of the media ranked the 12 CCHA teams in projected order of finish for the regular season. Points were awarded on a 12-11-10-9, etc., basis. League coaches ranked the CCHA teams, excluding their own school, in the order they predicted the regular season will end. Points in the coaches poll were tallied on an 11-10-9, etc., basis.

The Wildcats will make five appearances on television during the 2007-08 season. Three of the appearances will be on Comcast Local. NMU will face Michigan State on Oct. 26, the Notre Dame game from the Berry on Jan. 5 and the Michigan clash on Feb. 1 will be on Comcast Local. The ‘Cats will make one appearance on CSTV as the game will be from Ferris State on Jan. 19 and one appearance on the Big Ten Network from Ohio State on Feb. 15.
 
No member of the NMU hockey team was selected for the preseason team.
