PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Northern Michigan University women’s volleyball team dropped its final match at the Argonaut Regional Crossover Tournament on Sunday. NMU lost in four games to St. Leo (26-30, 30-20, 20-30, 24-30). The Wildcats are now 6-6 on the season while St. Leo improves to 9-2.
Caryn VanBeckum was the lone ‘Cat to have 10 or more kills for the match. She ended the contest with 16 kills in 27 attempts for a hitting percentage of .481. As a team the ‘Cats registered 51 kills in 141 attempts for a hitting percentage of .220.
Brittany McGowan passed the ball 42 times and had 10 digs on the defensive end. Cassie Osiecki also had 10 digs for the match. NMU ended the match with no block solos and 10 block assists. Katie Twardzik and Amy Andersen-Goldsworthy each had three block assists.
Next weekend the ‘Cats will be involved with conference play. Saturday (Sept. 15) the ‘Cats are at Grand Valley State before moving to Ferris State on Sunday (Sept. 16).
