ASHLAND, Ohio - The Northern Michigan University women’s soccer team did not lose nor did they win on Friday at Ashland University. After 110 minutes of play the Wildcats (3-0-1, 0-0-1 GLIAC) and Eagles (2-2-1, 0-0-1 GLIAC) played to a 0-0 draw. Entering the game, NMU was 0-6-0 all-time at Ashland.
The ‘Cats streak of not being scored upon continues. NMU has not give up a goal in the first four games of the season and in minutes it now stands at 380. The NMU record for most consecutive shutouts is five which was set in 2000.
The ‘Cats had several opportunities to score, but could not put the ball in the back of the net. Kara Music played the entire game and had five saves in the tie. Shots were almost even for the game as NMU had 15 to AU’s 14. Each side had five shots on goal.
The Eagles did have five corner kicks while the ‘Cats had three. Fouls were tiled in AU’s direction as they had 22 to seven for NNU.
The ‘Cats will continue with its Ohio trek with another conference game at Findlay on Sunday (Sept. 9).
