The Northern Michigan University men's basketball team beat Michigan Tech on Tuesday (Feb. 27) to advance to the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference Semifinals as the number three seed. The 'Cats will play the second seed Grand Valley State Lakers at 8 p.m. on Friday (March 2). The other semifinal game will feature the number one seed Findlay Oilers and the number four seed Mercyhurst Lakers at 6 p.m. The winners of the two semifinal games will face each other on Saturday (March 3) at 7:00 p.m. The basketball 'Cats will be broadcast live on 99.5 FM.
The GLIAC Men’s Basketball Semifinals and Final will be held at The University of Findlay on March 2-3.
Tickets are available by calling the Findlay Ticket Office at 419-434-4663. A credit card number is required to purchase tickets.
The GLIAC has partnered with Penn Atlantic to web cast the 2007 GLIAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships. All six games will be available to be watched on a pay-per-view basis at $6 per game through the Penn Atlantic web site. Half of all the proceeds will be given to the GLIAC office.
Viewing the games is very easy to do. You will need broadband internet access to view the games. To view a game, simply follow these directions:
1. Visit the Penn Atlantic web site and create a free user account. (http://www.pennatlantic.com/)
2. Click on the “Game Schedule” link on the top left-hand column of the page.
3. Use the drop down menu that reads “Choose a Conference” to select the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Then hit the “Find Games” button.
4. You will then see the list of GLIAC Tournament games. Select the game you wish to view and add it to your cart.
