MARQUETTE, Mich. – The Northern Michigan University men’s basketball and hockey teams know who they will be playing in post-season action.
The men’s basketball team will host Michigan Tech at the Berry Events Center on Tuesday night (Feb. 27) at 7:30 p.m. in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Tournament Quarterfinals. In other GLIAC action that night, Wayne State is at Mercyhurst, Ashland goes to Findlay and Ferris State travels to Grand Valley State.
The GLIAC Tournament Semifinals and Final will be played on March 2-3 at the site of the highest remaining seed.
The NMU hockey team will travel to Columbus, Ohio to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes in a best two-of-three series in the first-round of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) playoffs on March 2-3-4. In other CCHA playoff series, Bowling Green is headed to Nebraska-Omaha, Alaska will travel to Western Michigan and Ferris State will come up to the U.P. to take on Lake Superior.
Notre Dame, Michigan, Miami and Michigan State all earned first round byes and will host second-round quarterfinal series on March 9-10-11.
