January Athletes of the Month Named
Martin Banerud and Lindsey Weier were named the January Athletes of the Month for their outstanding performances in January. The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee chooses both a male and female athlete of the month September through March.
Martin Banerud, a freshman skier from Oslo, Norway, led the 'Cats in January with a 46th place classic finish and a 27th place freestyle finish at the U.S. Nationals. At the NorAm SuperTour at Mt. Itasca, Martin finished 6th in the classic and 3rd in the freestyle and 7th in the freestyle and 8th in the classic at Telemark.
Lindsey Weier, a senior skier from Mahtomedi, Minn., led the 'Cats in January with a first place finish in the classic at the U.S. Nationals, making her a National Champion, and a 5th place finish in the freestyle. Lindsey finished 3rd in the freestyle and 1st in the classic at the NorAm SuperTour at Telemark.
