MARQUETTE, Mich. - The Northern Michigan University Hockey Wildcats (12-20-2, 9-16-1, CCHA) will host the Miami RedHawks (22-10-4, 15-7-4 CCHA) in a two-game series at the Berry Events Center on Friday and Saturday, February 23-24. Face-off for both nights is slated for 7:35 p.m. This is the final home series of the 2006-07 regular season and the senior Wildcats will be recognized at events throughout the weekend.
Tickets are still available for this weekend’s games and can be purchased at all NMU EZ Ticket Outlets including their online store, http://www.nmu.edu/tickets/. The BEC ticket office opens at noon on game days.
There will be a Blue Line Club Luncheon on Friday, Feb. 23, at noon at the UpFront and Company. The luncheon is open to the public and those who attend will hear from NMU head coach Walt Kyle and the nine seniors on the 2006-07 roster. The cost of the luncheon is $7.75.
Friday’s game will be a “white-out” sponsored by TCF bank and will give away 500 white shirts to Wildcat fans. Part II of the NMU Hockey Silent Auction will take place during Friday’s game, featuring sports memorabilia from Tri-Star Celebrations on the North Side of the arena and bidding will be held from 7:00 p.m. until the start of the 3rd period. Individual auction items can then be claimed in the Wildcat Room after the game with payment accepted in the form of cash, check, Visa, or MasterCard.

Saturday night’s game will feature a pre-game “senior night” ceremony. Also, the first 1000 attendees at Saturday’s game will receive a free set of trading cards for the seniors on the 2006-07 NMU hockey team. Following Saturday’s game the players will be in the Izzo-Mariucci room for autographs.
The NMU hockey team will hold their annual ATV raffle on Saturday between the 2nd and 3rd periods. Tickets will be available for purchase through the first two periods of play.
The Blue Line Club will be having a 4th period party after Saturday’s game at the Casa Calabria. The event is sponsored by the Casa, Canale Funeral Home, and Houle and Associates.
