NMU Women's Soccer Team To Play In Europe

MARQUETTE, Mich. – The Northern Michigan University women’s soccer team is planning a trip to Holland, Germany and Belgium from Aug. 8-17. The trip is part of the Wildcats preseason training. While in Europe the ‘Cats will play in three friendly matches and in a one-day mini-tournament.
 
The matches which are tentatively on the schedule include RSC Anderlecht (Belgium) on Aug. 10, the mini-tournament at V.V. Reuver (Holland) on Aug. 12, SC 07 Bad Neuenahr (Germany) on Aug. 14 and Standard Liege (Belgium) on Aug. 16.
 
The team will conduct several fundraising activities for the trip. While on the trip the team will take in sights such as the Amsterdam Arena, the home of the famous Ajax F.C.; Brussels, the capital of Belgium and the European Community; a visit to the American Cemetery at Margraten; Maastricht the oldest city in the Netherlands, the capital of the province of Limburg; and a tour of Cologne and the Rhine River.
