Gamble Named as New Volleyball Coach

MARQUETTE, Mich. – Northern Michigan University athletic director, Ken Godfrey, has announced that Terry Gamble has been named the head volleyball coach at Northern Michigan University. “We feel that Terry is the best person for the position,” Godfrey said. “We searched nation wide to find a coach of Terry’s caliber. Terry was the unanimous choice of the search committee.”
The public and press are invited to a meet and greet session on Friday, Jan. 26 at 10 a.m. in the Izzo-Mariucci Room of the Berry Events Center.
 
Gamble comes to NMU with 12 seasons of collegiate coaching experience, two seasons at Iowa Western (2005-2006), six seasons at St. Clair Community College (1999-2004) and four seasons at Mott College (1995-1998) with an overall collegiate coaching record of 631-128. Gamble has been named Coach of the Year by the American Volleyball Coaches Association on three occasions, most recently in 2006.  Gamble has coached three National Championship Teams (2000, 2004, 2006), ten All-America players and 12 Academic All-America student-athletes. 
 
Gamble is originally from Port Huron, Mich. and is the proud father of four children, Kyle, Sarah, Kristi and Kody.
