FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – Two Northern Michigan University hockey players were named by the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) as a Player of the Week. Mike Santorelli was named the Offensive Player of the Week while teammate Zach Tarkir was named the Defenseman Player of the Week for their performances against Bowling Green State University over the weekend.
Santorelli, a junior from Burnaby, B.C., had a goal and two assists each night as the Wildcats posted a pair of 4-1 victories over BGSU for its first sweep of the season.
Tarkir, a senior from Fresno, Calif., had a goal and an assist each night against BGSU while helping the ‘Cats kill off 16-of-17 short-handed situations on the weekend.
