ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Northern Michigan University women’s swimming and diving team capped off its weekend with a double-dual at Lewis University on Saturday. The Wildcats lost to the home team by one point (48-47) and defeated The University of Findlay (71-23).
Mimi Marschall picked up two wins on the day. She captured the 200-yard and 500 freestyle events with times of 2:00.73 and 5:26.55 respectively. Sarah Van Oss picked up an individual win in the 200 I.M. (4:49.26).
Both NMU relays won their events. The 400 medley relay of Katie Sweeney, Megan Gerou, Courtney Lowry and Brenda Zickus swam a 4:01.94. Then the 400 freestyle relay of Emily Olson, Sarah Dobratz, Van Oss and Marshall swam a 3:50.84.
Picking up second-place finishes for the ‘Cats were Sarah Cempel in the 1,000 freestyle (11:25.95), Dobratz in the 200 backstroke (2:16.86) and Van Oss in the 200 breaststroke (2:35.60).
The ‘Cats are on the road again this week with a meet at the University of Indianapolis (Jan. 27).
