Two Candidates to be Interviewed for Volleyball Post

MARQUETTE, Mich. –Two candidates in the search for the next head volleyball coach at Northern Michigan University will be interviewed next week. The search committee will interview Wick Colchagoff on Tuesday (Jan. 16) and Terry Gamble on Thursday (Jan. 18). The interview process will consist of meetings with the search committee and other university staff, members of the athletic council and current volleyball players. The media and public can meet the candidates at 4:00pm in the Izzo-Mariucci Academic Center each day. 

Colchagoff – Just concluded his ninth season as head coach of the University of Findlay volleyball team where overall his team has a 223-99 (.693) record….. Has eight consecutive winning seasons…..Coached from 1994-1998 at Nebraska Wesleyan University…. Has coached teams that qualified for NCAA post-season play six times….. Coached athletes who have received All-America, All Region, and All-Conference awards based on athletics and academic performance.

Gamble – Named the 2006 National Coach of the Year by the American Volleyball Coaches Association...Currently head coach at Iowa Western Community College...Collegiate coaching record of 631-128 (.831) in 12 seasons…Coached three Junior College National Champion teams…Named Volleyball Coach of the Year by the National Junior College Athletic Association in 2000, 2004 and 2006…Coached the National Player of the Year in 2000, 2004, and 2006.
