MARQUETTE, Mich. - Former NMU hockey player and captain Ron Brodeur passed away recently. He skated for the ‘Cats from 1982-86 and was the captain for the 1985-86 season. Brodeur appeared in 132 games for NMU, registered 16 goals, 17 assists for 33 points.
“Northern lost a great part of our hockey family. I lost a great friend,” Walt Kyle said. “To me Ron Brodeur exemplifies all the values that we think are important in this program. All our sympathy goes out to his family. We want them to know that they will always be a part of this family.”
The ‘Cats will wear a patch with Brodeur’s number 19 on their uniforms.
