Client Services Specialist

Starting range of $37,600 – $41,350, plus exceptional fringes.​  Position available to be part of the person centered planning team, to assist in the coordination and provision of service to adults who experience a developmental disability.​  Responsible for assessment, plan development, linking, coordinating, advocacy, etc.​  Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in social work or related degree with current Michigan social work licensure, along with experience providing services to adults who experience a developmental disability.​  Must have a valid, unrestricted driver's license and availability of reliable transportation for outreach work.​  Send cover letter and resume by June 15, 2012 to: Human Resources Director, Bay-Arenac Behavioral Health, 201 Mulholland, Bay City, MI 48708; or BABHA-HR@​babha.​org .​ Case Manager, Clinical III

This is also a typical Community mental health Services position. Salary in Michigan is around $16-25.00/hour. A case manager provides services to the seriously mentally ill adult including; assessment, coordination of recipient services, consultation and education services to other human resources provider; develop and monitor treatment plans; provide direct and indirect assistance to recipients. This position may also provide on call after hours coverage.

Bachelor's degree in social work; or equivalent combination of, education/experience; one year of experience working with persons with developmental disabilities and/or mental illness and a current State of Michigan registration.

Case Manager

Full Time Annual Salary Range: Level 7 $39,124-$52,811.

The Case Manager is responsible for coordination, monitoring, and implementation of all aspects of individual consumer plans of service.​ Performs assessments of consumers and coordinates team meetings to determine appropriate treatment planning or makes referrals for other services.​ Must meet Michigan Department of Community Health requirements for Qualified Mental Health Professional/​Qualified Mental Retardation Professional (QMRP/​QMHP), i.​e.​, Individual with specialized training or one year experience in treating or working with a person who has mental illness/​mental retardation; and is a psychologist, physician, educator with a degree in education from an accredited program, social worker, physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech pathologist, audiologist, registered nurse, therapeutic recreation specialist, licensed or limited-licensed professional counselor, licensed physician's assistant; or an individual with a human services degree hired and performing in the role of a QMHP/​QMRP prior to January 1, 2008.​ A minimum of one year of work related experience in a human service field and knowledge of the CMH system is required.​ Licensure appropriate to professional degree.​ A valid Michigan Driver's license is required.​


Wrap Around Coordinator

Salary range $16.00/hr entry thru $24.50/hr dependent upon Classification level/Degree.

This position is tailored to work with families with children with a serious emotional disturbance who are in out-of-home care or in danger of placement out of the home and who have two or more family service agencies involved. The Coordinator helps select families for Wrap Around service, helps develop a Wrap Around Plan for each family, and assures that each plan is carried out. The Coordinator works with an inter agency advisory team. Other duties will include day and night emergency services as well as clinical intakes of children and families,

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of a Bachelor in degree in Social Work, will consider degrees in other Human Services Field, two years of experience working with children and families with a serious emotional disturbance. Applicants with Master's Degrees will have additional duties based upon credentials.

Michigan Department of Human Services Social Service Specialist

DHS continues to hire professional caseworkers to reduce caseloads. These employees will:

  • Make foster placements, recruit foster families, and work toward reunification or permanent placements.
  • Investigate complaints of abuse or neglect, provide services that maintain the family unit, and represent DHS in court when it is necessary to remove a child from an unsafe home.


A social services specialist functions as a professional social caseworker. In order to qualify, candidates must possess either a bachelor's or a master's degree with a major in one of the following areas: social work, sociology, psychology, family ecology, consumer/community services, family and child development, guidance and counseling or criminal justice.

 Compensation and Benefits

Entry-level pay for services specialists with bachelor's degrees ranges from $37,000 to $40,000 annually and can go up to $51,000 after five years. Services specialists with master's degrees begin at $38,000 to $47,500 annually and can go up to $55,000 after five years.                Applicants with Permanent State of Wisconsin Social Worker Certification or Licensure will be hired at a starting annual salary of $39,056 per year base pay plus between $1.00 and $2.00 per hour add-on based on AODA certification level (SAC, CSAC, or SACIT). These positions include a State benefits package. A six-month probationary period will be required. Schedule and Range 12-06.

Special Qualifications:

               Applicant must be certified or licensed as a Social Worker by the State of Wisconsin which includes temporary certification (not Training) in order to be considered for this position AND This position requires AODA Certification (SAC, CSAC, or SACIT) from the State of Wisconsin. Certification in one of these is required, emphasis area in Substance Abuse can not be substituted for the certification

Special Qualifications:

Applicants MUST possess permanent or temporary Wisconsin Social Worker certification. Applicants with an out of state certification will be considered if they have passed the ASWB exam AND have completed a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Social Work.
