On Saturday, November 10, 2012, the Seaborg Mathematics and Science Center hosted five teams from across the Upper Peninsula that competed in the regional First LEGO League Robotics Tournament. Teams had four opportunities during the robot performance table to complete as many missions as possible in 2 ½ minutes with the robot they built and programmed.
Teams are judged on Core Values, Robot Design, and Research. The awards included two Research Project Awards, two Core Value Awards, a Robot Design Award, a Robot Performance Award, and a Championship Award. One team received an invitation to compete at the First Lego League State Competition in Flint in December.
