The Center for Rural Community and Economic Development at Northern Michigan University will combine research, public service, education, and training to enhance the quality of life, support economic development and improve the delivery of services in the Upper Peninsula and surrounding region. The Center for Rural Community and Economic Development will work hand-in-hand with local government, non-profit and private sector leaders to develop innovative solutions to complex policy issues. The Center will also provide hands-on experiences for future leaders to prepare them for the challenges facing rural communities in the Upper Peninsula.
