Using Purchasing Requisitions

A purchase requisition is a form used to request purchase of supplies, equipment and services that are not available from Central Stores. These purchases usually exceed the $1,000 spending limit allowed on NMU’s purchasing cards. Learn more about the purchasing requisition process here. If you have questions about when to use a purchasing card versus when to use a purchase requisition, contact the Purchasing Department at purchase@nmu.edu or 227-2360. Current Bids
To obtain a copy of a bid, click on the appropriate link for the bid you would like to review or contact the Purchasing Department at 906-227-2360 or at purchase@nmu.edu. To submit a bid, please follow the instructions outlined in each RFP. Only certain bids will be available online; if no bids are listed below, please contact the Purchasing Department for a list of current bid opportunities.
Purchasing Card

Northern Michigan University uses purchasing cards for departmental purchases that are under $1,000.  Using a purchasing card for flexibility of acquiring goods and services on an “as needed” basis without processing a purchase requisition. Ordering Supplies Online

Office SuppliesNMU has an online office supplies purchasing program with Office Depot. Participating in the program increases university discounts and provides NMU with campus-wide reports on category-type spending. Departments can contact the Purchasing Office for the university’s vendor access code and password.  Office Depot’s website
