An aggravated assault is "an unlawful attack by one person on another wherein the offender uses a weapon or displays it in a threatening manner, or the victim suffers obvious severe or aggravated bodily injury involving apparent broken bones, loss of teeth, internal injuries, severe lacerations or loss of consciousness".

** This amount reflects all degrees of criminal sexual conduct, 1st degree, 2nd degree, 3rd and 4th degree, not only "rape".

Jeanne Clery Disclosure Of Campus Security Policies And Campus Crime Statistics Act
Northern Michigan University's annual security report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings owned or controlled by Northern Michigan University; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. The report also includes institutional policies concerning campus security, such as policies concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
