Register bicycles for on-campus use

Are you ready to use your bike on campus? Bikes on campus must be registered with Public Safety, which is simple and free. Students can register their bikes at anytime online through MyNMU (www.mynmu.nmu.edu). Log in, click on the Student Services tab and go to the Public Safety Services box to register today.

Parked Cars Where can you park with your parking decal?  Check out NMU’s parking map.
Bike If you see a crime happening or know of illegal activity, you can provide information to Public Safety online at Anonymous Crime Tips. To learn more go to Crime Tips.
Police Shield In accordance with state and federal laws, it is mandatory that registered sex offenders taking classes, living or working at NMU report to NMU Public Safety. Michigan Sex Offender Website
Handgun  If you are visiting campus with a weapon and have a concealed weapon permit, you can register and store it at Public Safety and Police Services.

Clery Act
The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act is a federal law that requires colleges and universities to disclose certain timely and annual information about campus crime and security policies, such as crime statistics, police activities reports and timely crime alert notices.

Northern’s Police Training Institute collects information on available public safety positions nationally. Check back regularly as the list is frequently updated.
Fire Safety Report

This guide is published annually with section 485(i) of the Higher Education Opportunity Act. All currently registered students as well as employees are directly mailed a notice by October 1 of each year that includes a statement of the report's availability, the exact electronic address at which the report is posted, a brief description of the report's contents, and a statement that the institution will provide a paper copy of the report upon request to NMU.
