Northern Michigan University’s Psychology Department offers degrees that range from the associate level to master’s and graduate levels. The focus of the department’s courses and programs is on research methodology and data of both human and lower animal behavior, as well as its theoretical and applied implications.
At the undergraduate level, the department offers four majors and three minors, ranging from early childhood to graduate school-bound psychology, and has an associate degree in applied child development. In addition to its major, minor and graduate programs, the department provides NMU students of all majors several introductory courses that meet NMU’s liberal studies program requirements to Northern student of all majors.
