MPA Capstone

The MPA capstone course is a very important piece of the graduate education experience. This process provides students the opportunity to demonstrate their mastery of the material learned in the program. Students must complete this process in accordance with the guidelines provided below. Failure to satisfactorily complete the capstone requirements can result in dismissal from the program.

Students admitted to the MPA program prior to December 2007 must complete two file papers, complete PS 592, pass a two-part written examination and an oral examination by a three-member faculty committee.

Students admitted to the MPA program starting in January 2008 need to choose one of the following two options as a capstone project: complete a portfolio or write an original thesis.
