Deadline: February 17, 2012
Northern Michigan University invites recent PhD’s in philosophy to submit papers on a topic in the area of existentialism or philosophy of religion for its lecture series. The selected speaker will deliver two lectures: a research presentation and an introductory-style presentation geared toward an audience with no background in philosophy. The lectures will take place on Northern Michigan University’s campus on a mutually convenient date in either March or April. A stipend covering travel expenses will be provided.
To submit, please send the following to nmuphil@gmail.com:
1. A research paper (3000-4000 words)
2. A 200 word abstract of your research paper;
3. A 100 word abstract of your introductory-style presentation; and
4. A cover sheet containing your name, affiliation, contact information, the year of your PhD, and the title of both talks.
Please submit your documents in Word or PDF format. Make sure all of them, except the cover sheet, are prepared for anonymous review. We prefer submissions from those who have received their PhD within the last six years. However, we will consider submissions from exceptional graduate students who expect to defend this spring or summer. Please direct any questions to Antony Aumann (aaumann@nmu.edu), Zac Cogley (zcogley@nmu.edu), or Sarah Jones (sajones@nmu.edu).
