As your son or daughter travels the exciting journey from high school to college, I want to reinforce to you the opportunities provided at Northern Michigan University. As the Associate Provost for Student Services and Enrollment, it is important to me that all students at the university are provided every opportunity for success. Northern is an excellent university that not only excels academically, but is considered one of the most technically advanced universities in the country. In addition, our support services are second to none.

Over and over again, I hear from parents about how pleased they are with the individualized attention that not only their student gets, but how the parent is treated and valued by the University. Here at NMU, we are interested in forming a partnership between us, the student, and you the parent. Together we create a team that puts an emphasis on academics, service, and the need to enjoy their college years. Whether I am traveling the Midwest visiting with parents about opportunities at Northern, visiting with parents at New Student Orientation, or at Family Weekend the message is always the same. The University has done a great job in answering all of our questions, has met all of our expectations and we are glad that our son/daughter chose Northern.

Finally, I want you to know that I am not only the Associate Provost for the University, but am the proud parent of an NMU student. My daughter loves it here and she knows that she made the right choice with Northern Michigan University.
