MARQUETTE, Mich. Northern Michigan University Olympic Training Site weightlifter Taylor Turner placed seventh in her weight class today at the World University Games held in Taipei City, Chinese Taipei.
Turner competed in the 58 kg division. She lifted 85 kg in the snatch, breaking the American record she set this past April by 1 kg. Her total in the snatch was the fifth-highest overall in her weight class. Her lift of 100 kg in the clean and jerk gave her a 185 kg total, placing her seventh in her division.
The University World Games are held every two years and organized by the International University of Sports Federation.
