Rob Hermann of Pensacola, Fla., is the fourth Greco-Roman coach since the program was established in 1999.  Starting in Crystal River, Fla., Hermann was the 1976 Florida state high school champion. From there, Hermann competed on three U.S. World teams and won four National Greco-Roman titles. He's competed at five World Cups, and is a 1983 Pan American Games bronze medalist.  Hermann was a CISM World Military champion, capturing 11 Armed Forces titles.  He also received Navy Athlete of the Year in 1984 and again in 1992.

Hermann served in the U.S. Navy from 1976 to 1998 when he received an honorable discharge.  He started as a Ship's Serviceman until 1987 when he was converted to Master at Arms.  Hermann served in the Security Department at NAS Pensacola from 1987 to 1993.  He was assigned to NORU Recruiting Command from 1996 to 1998.  While on active duty he was awarded two Navy Achievement medals and one Navy Accommodation medal.

Coaching wise, Hermann was the head coach for the 1996 U.S. Olympic team and the assistant Olympic coach in 2000. In 1993, he served as the head coach of the U.S. World team, which placed 14th at the World Championships.

He was named USA Wrestling Greco-Roman Coach of the Year in 1992 and 1996.  Hermann is also a gold certified coach with the USA Wrestling's National Coaches Education Program, the highest level of achievement.

Coach Herman and his wife Cyndi have two children: Tyler, 19 and Julie, 17.
