Traveling by Plane

Sawyer International Airport is located near the city of Marquette, Michigan, on the southern shore of Lake Superior and approximately 20 minutes from campus.

Once you arrive at Sawyer International, you'll find it easy to reach your next destination. Car rentals, bus shuttles and private taxi services are at your disposal.

From the airport, you can take one of the Marquette Transit Authority's buses to their depot in Marquette.  Once you are at the depot, you can take a taxi right to orientation check-in. Prior to making travel plans to campus for orientation, contact the New Student Orientation Program at 800-682-9797 or orient@nmu.edu to make arrangements to be picked up from the Marquette Transit Authority’s bus station, if such arrangements are necessary.

Traveling by Bus

Indian Trails bus line will bring you to the Marquette Transit Authority’s bus station. Prior to making travel plans to come to campus for orientation, contact the New Student Orientation Program at 800-682-9797 or by e-mail at orient@nmu.edu to set up arrangements to be picked up from the Marquette Transit Authority's bus station, if such arrangements will be necessary.
